4th of July

We had quite the busy weekend for the 4th. We were down in Tucson for the freedom fest, which Mark and I were able to steal away for and leave the kids with Nana and Papa. We had a great time and they had some really great fireworks. It was on the 3rd so we were still able to take the kids to see fireworks on the 4th. We took them to Tempe and so did the rest of Phoenix. It was so busy we decided to pay for parking and then sit by the car in the parking lot to watch to show. We have never been before, but we intend to go back next year. It is a really good show. It lasted close to an hour with continuous fireworks. Great family fun. Riley made it through the first 20 minutes and then fell asleep, since it was way pass his bedtime. Bailey started asleep and then was awaken by the loud booms! She really like the colors though. We hope all had a great 4th.
Bailey update: Bailey turned 3 months on the 3rd this month and she is doing great. She is 15lbs and really a happy baby. She is trying to balance when sitting and showing signs of turning over. She is not sleeping through the night yet, but we sure that is coming soon. We hope! Riley is very helpful with her and really loves to be around her to play and make faces at her. They are really great kids. Riley is teething and in terrible twos, but we are hoping this doesn't last much longer.

Bailey Milestones

Bailey is now almost 3 months old and weighs a whooping 15lbs. She is such a happy baby and she is really doing well. Riley absolutely loves her unless it is bottle time and then he gets very jealous. She is not very good at tummy time because all she wants to do is lay there, but hopefully she will get interested soon.
We are still fighting the potty training with Riley and hoping he feels like trying the potty again soon. The summer has been really hot here so there is not much we can do outside right now. We spend most of our time dancing inside and playing fort. Riley is now into hide and go see, thank you Hailey. He is obsessed with it. It is funny though because he doesn't really understand how to play but he has a good time hiding. We are hoping to get him into swim lessons soon so check back for swim pictures. Next week he will have a day at a local water park in Tucson so we will see. Uncle Jed is going to have his hands full. Here are a few pictures of the kids.

Visit with Gammy and Papa Schleicher

We had a great visit from Gammy and Papa Schleicher. They were here for only 4 days, but we managed to do so many things. Riley played with bubbles, went to the park, built a bear(Alvin the chipmunk), took a train ride in the mall, and played with his new water table. He really loved having them come and didn't want them to leave without him. He wanted to fly on the plane with them to NC.
Bailey enjoyed all the attention as well. We are going to have to reprogram her to sleep in her bed/crib/cradle instead of in someones arms all the time. They spoiled her big time. She is now 9lbs. 3 ozs and 21 inches long. That was at her 2 week check up last week and she has not slowed down on the feedings. She loves her bottle and I really hope she is a good eater for life, because we can't bribe Riley to eat. Although, Papa managed to get him to drink milk which is a really hard task. He will have to come back out here every month so Riley can get his calcium intake.

Riley has a new sister!

Riley has been long awaiting the arrival of his sister. Bailey was born on April 3rd at 8:28 am weighing in at 8 lbs and 4 oz. She is home and doing great. Riley is a big help and wants to feed, burp and hold her. He is very concerned every time Bailey has the hiccups, which is often. He has definitely displayed a few jealous moments, but he loves Bailey and wants to kiss her all the time. Bailey is a big eater unlike her brother. She is already on 3 oz and every two hours. She loves to sleep all day and stay awake at night. We hope she will change this soon. Here are a few pictures my friend took of Bailey.

WOW! It has been awhile!

So i can't remember the last time I posted something so here is where we are now. Riley is currently loving daycare and learning a ton of new words. They are working on Spanish words with English so he now can say gracias, damme, aqua, and mas. He is 20 months old now and his favorite thing to do is throw, kick or chuck any type of ball he can get his hands on. Watch out it doesn't matter if you are looking or not. He has recently learned to swing a pretend bat so that is really crazy. There is no amount of baby proofing for that.
This last weekend we went to the pumpkin patch and he had a blast. He rode the train, played on bikes, jumped in the bouncy house, rode a pony and picked out one of the biggest pumpkins in the patch. We did not buy that huge pumpkin, but a smaller version that he was ok with.
Riley had a great time carving this pumpkin, but unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of that because i was helping him and there was no one to take the picture. We waited until Mark got home from class to go trick or treating and it was so cute. Riley and one of his friends loved getting treats in their matching baskets. What a great experience. I can't wait until next year when he can say "trick or treat" instead of ease. The following are a bunch of pictures from halloween and the pumpkin patch. Enjoy!

Summer Fun

So since I have been out of school Riley and I have managed to bond a lot.  I enrolled him in a gym class that is three times a week.  He absolutely loves it.  He has been going for almost 2 months and he can now do a forward roll by himself.  Anyways, Mark was able to go to one of his gym class thanks to 4th of July weekend.  It was a great experience for Riley and Mark to be able to do this together.  I sat on the side and took pictures.  I can't wait to see what he will learn next summer when we go back.

15/16 Months Old

OK it has been too long since I last blogged so this posting is about a month past due, but oh well.  We went to NC for a visit as stated in the last blog and Riley had a great time.  He was very anxious to pack is bag, or unpack.  Needless to say he was not much help sitting in the suit case.  Anyways we managed to get everything packed and get on the plan with no problems.  The flights were long and Riley hated them, but we managed to make it to NC in one piece.  Brian picked us up from the airport and when we got to Dean and Gatha's,  Riley wanted to go outside and play.  It was so great that there was a water table, bubbles, a slide and later in the trip a pool presented itself on the deck.  It was heaven for Riley and Hailey.  They played for hours out there.
Mark and I had a wedding to go to so we ventured up to Pfeiffer while we were in the area.  It was really great to see the old school again and to take Riley to the baseball field where Mark had so many great memories.  The wedding was really hot and humid, but it was on a beautiful vineyard with a lake and pond.  We took some family pictures, but they didn't come out very clear.  Riley's were the best ones.  Over all it was a great trip, short but great.  We can't wait to go back in Sept. and see how much Mackenzie has grown and how much fun Hailey and Riley will have on the beach.
